The Role
We are looking for an Assistant Regional Manager to support our Regional Management team with the day-to-day operations of our Active Adult 55+ communities. The ideal candidate has extensive Operations experience and strong knowledge of Sparrow’s internal processes. This role will assist with coaching, training, Yardi support and preparation for Capital Partner calls. Reporting to a member of the RM team, this is an exciting opportunity to help us achieve our mission of building community and play an influential role in the success of our on-site teams.
What You will Do…
Assist Operations leadership and RM team with community oversight, team leadership and special projects as assigned
Assist with the preparation of reports on portfolio performance and attend partner calls
Assist with the oversight of financial reporting, expense approvals, sales, variance reports, lease files and provide feedback/coaching to the teams
Handles community member escalations and responses to resident reviews (reputation.com)
Prepare teams for site visits (RM, leadership, partners)
Act as a strategic thought partner to RM, RSL and CM team for sales strategy and performance
Participates in interviews and hiring decisions
Step in as needed to fill vacancies to maintain continuity of onsite operations
Knowledgeable about the competitive landscape within their assigned region; interfaces with Asset Management to provide feedback on pricing and concessions
Assist with the coordination and logistics of onboarding activities for new hires including training on Yardi, SOX, weekly reporting, Accounting Month-end, budgeting, financial acumen
Set up new Yardi user accounts, modify access, reset passwords and troubleshoots user issues
Yardi support – invoice approvals, concession updates, applicant approvals
Support SOX compliance, delinquency reviews
Roll out new operational processes at a regional level and captures processes and best practices in Sparrow University and/or Policy Partner
Coordinate Opening Day coverage and training for region
Qualifications
A high school diploma and a minimum of 5+ years professional management experience within multifamily housing, Active Adult, or hospitality
Experience with property management; lease-up properties preferred
Fluent in Yardi
Experience maintaining financial records, managing budgets and financial reporting
Experience developing and leading an onsite team
Ability to travel up to 50%
Flexibility to work nights, weekends and/or holidays when required

Possesses effective communication skills with a proven ability to build collaborative partnerships
Familiarity with Fair Housing, Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and other laws and regulations governing multi-family housing operations
Must be able to physically access all exterior and interior parts of the property and amenities; must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver weights of up to twenty (20) pounds independently and fifty (50) pounds with assistance
